My Life with Buttons…

And the rollercoaster ride that began the day I found him on the road, cheeky, cheerful and covered in mange!
I had absolutely no intentions of getting a pet - and then I found Buttons in the lane outside my building. He was a month-old scrappy, scruffy mutt who totally lacked any instinct for survival. He was running around in the middle of the road, oblivious to all the vehicles zipping down the lane. He came running up to me, plonked himself at my feet, wagging his tail, and that was it for me. I couldn’t just leave him there, and I also knew no one would take such a mangy cur home - so I did.
I thought it may be easier to find a home for him if I had the mange treated, and if he looked more respectable! Until then, I would foster him…
That was eight years ago! Buttons today is nothing like the mangy mutt I found. He is
handsome, charming and probably the best thing that ever happened to me. I consider myself blessed to have found a pet with such an amazing temperament - he is sweet, gentle and sometimes goofy!
Buttons is also very determined to bring about greater understanding between humans and animals - in the urban context of course. Because he has never seen any animals in the wild and wouldn’t recognize a lion or tiger if he ever encounters one! Petiquette is Buttons’ brainchild and hence, he has his own page to directly communicate with all of you!
